Learning How to Fly at Camp Twin Lakes

We want to thank all of our customers, business partners, friends and family members who helped us raise $740 to support Camp Twin Lakes!

“365 days a year, I can’t walk but at Camp Twin Lakes, I can fly” said a young camper as she was gently lowered back into her wheelchair after zipping down the zip line at Camp Twin Lakes in a fully supportive body harness. This camper is just one of 10,000 children and teens served by Camp Twin Lakes annually through their year-round medically-supportive recreational, therapeutic, and educational camp programs.

Camp Twin Lakes, along with their nearly 60 nonprofit Camp Partners, make camp possible for thousands of kids with various illnesses, disabilities and life challenges who might otherwise be unable to attend camp including: asthma, spina bifida, cancer, HIV, muscular dystrophy, diabetes, as well as kids in foster care, transplant recipients and kids who have lost a loved one – just to name a few. Campsites are filled with campers 48 weeks each year, and since their inception in 1993, Camp Twin Lakes has served more than 1200,000 campers!

Through the Camper Scholarship Program, Camp Twin Lakes provides a 70% subsidy for each camper which translates to $550 per child for one week of camp. This program helps ensure that cost is not a factor for families sending a child with a serious illness, disability or other life challenge to camp!
